Moonbunnies

Mochi Moon Bunnies by Cotton + Steel is just adorable. So I dutifully purchased a couple of metres assuming that in due course inspiration would strike and the perfect project would come along.

Last week was my stepdad’s birthday. He’s been going to weekly art classes for nearly a year, and I thought I should add to his growing collection of tiger-themed accessories this birthday with a pencil roll. Whadya know, the moonbunnies hopped right out of my fabric box and onto the sewing table. I think the bunnies and tigers are getting on remarkably well here.

The pattern is self-drafted, and I lined the pencil roll with a layer of felt for padding.

The tigers are also Cotton + Steel, and the yellow cross-hatching is by Carolyn Friedlander. I bought a fat quarter of it from the Village Haberdashery last winter and had the perfect sized piece for this left over after making a pouch out of it as a Christmas present.
